## Intro

How to install Cavalry.

The **macOS** and **Windows** installers are available to download from [cavalry.studio](/content/site-root.html).

## Install

### macOS

Double click the `.dmg` file and then drag the Cavalry icon onto the **Applications** icon.

By default, Cavalry is installed to - `Macintosh HD/Applications/`.

**Note**: The macOS installer is a Universal Binary so both **Intel** and **Apple silicon** chips are supported. The installer will automatically install the correct version depending on your processor.

### Windows

Run the `.msi` file and follow the instructions.

By default, Cavalry is installed to - `C:\Program Files\Cavalry`.

An unsupervised installation can be run on Windows using [msiexec](https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-server/administration/windows-commands/msiexec). Launch **Command Prompt** as an Administrator and then run the following command (replace `Cavalry_XXXX.msi` with the name of the installer):

> msiexec /i "C:\Path\To\Cavalry_XXXX.msi" /quiet /norestart
```

**Info**: To run **Command Prompt** as an administrator, right-click on Command Prompt and select 'Run as Administrator'.

## Uninstall

### macOS

Simply delete the **Cavalry.app** bundle from the `/Applications/` folder. The following folders can also be manually deleted:

- `~/Library/Application Support/Cavalry`
- `~/Library/Preferences/Cavalry`

### Windows

Use **Add/Remove Programs**.
